The fantasy premier league

The Fantasy premier league also known as ‘’FPL’’, Is a virtual Football based game and just as the name suggest, it is fantasy, completely made up, but it is seasoned with a touch of reality. The game allows people like you and me to create a team of fantasy players who represent the image and performance of real life professional footballers plying their trade in the English premier league. The fixtures and results involved in the Fantasy premier league parallel the events in the English premier league, so the fantasy premier league begins and ends in accordance with the English premier league’s schedule.

At the beginning of the English premier league, FPL users also known as Managers create and name their own team, each team created is to consist of 15 squad members, who are purchased with fantasy pounds, every manager is allocated a lump sum of a 100 million fantasy pounds. 100 million fantasy pounds is a lot of money right? Too bad its imaginary. The 15 squad members consist of 5 defenders, 5 midfielders, 3 strikers and 2 goalkeepers nothing more, nothing less and you are allowed to choose a maximum of 3 players from a single English premier league team. Every game week as a FPL manager comes with the responsibility of choosing a starting eleven from your squad roster, each starting eleven player receives certain points determined by the player’s performance and is based on a point system created and maintained by the creators of the Fantasy premier league; EA sports and the Barclays premier league. The performances of your individual fantasy players are summed up into overall points, which Is a show your team’s performance and your managerial skills which include team selection, captain selection and transfers. Overall points are cumulative and are added from each successive game week. It is with these overall points FPL managers use to compete with each other in various leagues and cup competitions. FPL gives the opportunity for managers to create their own leagues which would usually comprise of friends. The FPL game takes little but it offers a lot of fun, it actually is different experience mainly as an FPL manager you support every player on your team even if the player doesn’t play for your favorite club, and when the player does come against your favorite team there arise the mixed feelings. If you don’t already play FPL, it’s something you should consider taking up as a hobby.

We live in a world that is largely orchestrated by technology, technology applies everywhere, from our homes, to our schools, to our workplaces, and to even our churches. Here in our developing environment, technology is vital in order to keep up with the current standard of practices the western world as set and even pioneer certain areas. As medical student or even as any student of a University, you are not exempted from the potentials technology has to offer, you have to keep up and also pioneer new standards of learning in the world you live in. Every medical student should endeavor to acquire a mobile phone device running software such as the android mobile Operating system, or the IOS. If you already have any of the aforementioned devices, it would be wise to have certain applications to allow you to efficiently navigate the course that is Medicine and Surgery.

Adobe Reader

Most of the available E-books in medicine are in portable Document format (PDF) format, and Adobe acrobat reader is the Gold standard for opening and reading PDF documents, you can create book-marks and navigate through inherent bookmarks that come with certain E-books, you can search words and view the pdf in single or continuous modes.

Google Keep

As a medical student, you would have a lot of things you have to keep in your head, things you have to remember, lists you have to create. The challenge is that you cannot remember everything, however, Google Keep makes this easy. It is like having sticky notes in your phone. You can keep reminders for assignments, details such as your bank account number, E-transact number, hospital card number, list of items to purchase, reminders and so on. The good thing is that you can synchronize this with all your internet-connected devices, meaning that if you make a list on your phone, you can access it anytime on your tablet.

Google Chrome

With the simplest of designs Google Chrome provides the best quality versions of web pages in the fastest of times. it comes with many added features, it allows you to save up to 50% Data , Save virtually any web page as a PDF and read it later with Adobe Acrobat Reader, it provides  faster navigation through the web as you can choose from search results as you type, quickly access, previously visited pages, synchronize tabs and bookmarks from your laptop to your phone and/or tablet, use incognito mode to browse without saving your history.

The free encyclopedia known as Wikipedia is available as a mobile phone app, this app come with gestures allowing you access all Wikipedia Articles in user friendly formats, it allow one to save articles for offline reading so whether or not you have an active internet connection or even subscription you can access saved articles. It provides tab browsing; pressing and holding a Wikipedia link in the Wikipedia app opens a new tab in the Wikipedia app, allowing you to keep reading your current article without losing your place, and switch to the new tab when you are ready. tapping on a link shows a preview of the linked article, giving you a chance to get the gist of the link without losing your place in the article you are reading. Merriam Webster dictionary

Nobody knows everything and certainly nobody knows all the words in the English dictionary, but a certain level of command of the English language is needed to understand various words in the textbooks and internet articles you read. As a medical student you will come across new words you don’t know the meaning of and access to an Offline dictionary is paramount. An offline dictionary like the Merriam Webster dictionary, which is one of the most comprehensive dictionaries in the world would be a good fit for a medical student.

Microsoft Office

Microsoft Office documents is the Application created by Microsoft for reading Microsoft documents. Microsoft Office mobile is available for android OS versions 4.3.3 and below while the individual apps Microsoft word and Microsoft Powerpoint are available for android versions 5.0 and above.

This application uses the WI-FI capabilities of mobile phones to send and receive files folders and even applications at speeds far greater than that of the Bluetooth technology. He is Superman , Faster than a speeding bullet! More powerful than a locomotive! Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound ,Superman is all this and more when he is not weakened by kryptonite . with all these characteristics it seems that superman can do anything , but unfortunately there are some things the man of steel cannot do .

1.THE MAN OF STEEL CANNOT BRUSH HIS TEETH : 

yes Superman can not infact brush his teeth , his teeth are probably harder than steel and cleaning them won’t be ineffective with a toothbrush ,his tooth will probably be covered with super bacteria , superman may have super bad breath.

2 .The man of steel cannot Use a Toilet more than once : 

with all his abilities it’s no surprise that superman has super poo ,its not the poo that would be deadly it would be the force at which he releases it , the same goes for Urine. It as been quite a debate whether the man of steel craps harder than the incredible hulk

3. The man of steel cannot have sex 

yes it unfortunate but the man of steel is most likely a virgin ,i don’t even need to explain it to you,he will surely  kill his partner ,if the humping doesn’t kill her ,the Super sperm will. except he uses Kryptonite Condoms .but it still wont save her from the humping . the same goes for Bruce banner ,when he is about to have sex his heart would pump faster and he will inadvertently turn into the hulk and kill the woman.

4. He can not play most sports E.g soccer/Football

with many other Sports, soccer is one of the sports  he cannot play ,there is no position he could play without rupturing the ball ,  as a defender his tackles would be killer, as a winger he sprint would be too much, and as a striker he would be too prolific .

5. The man of steel cannot Get high via Needles

the man of steel’s skin is almost  impenetrable and its going to be hard injecting anything into his system( if he were a super junkie) , even normal medicinal drugs can not be shot into his bloodstream (he probably wouldn’t ever need them )

 

 

 

Story of my Internet life And how i cheated in an Examination

i rarely tell stories about me on this blog ,but i intend to change that ,i am going to tell you the history of my internet life ,got my inspiration from @Theoiz .

I must tell you it might get boring ,because i am not much of a storyteller also because my Memory is Terrible but i will try to get as much as i can .

Lets get started

Everybody has their own Unique Childhood and how they were brought up ,and my Childhood was based on the Internet and television , i can’t remember when i  found out about the internet ,but i do know when i started using the internet. I think i was around the Age of 10 , somewhere around 2005-2006   ,My dad bought a Desktop computer ,I still remember how it looked like  ,the Monitor was huge ,like all those Sharp  television  sets .

it was running Windows Xp ,and it had access to the internet,i really don’t remember our Internet service provider at that time ,i think it was starcomms ,i will honestly tell you the speed of that internet isn’t different from what i experience today ,only that today the sluggishness of my internet is broadcasted as WI-FI. any how you would wonder what a ten year Old kid is doing on the internet at that time ,well it was very simple ,WWW.cartoonnetwork.com ,it was like the only website i knew apat from google ,it was like the only reason i went online ,i would go there to see  watch mim-clips and play mini-games ,i was so obsessed with it,and this obseesion went on for like 2 years ,then i had a long internet Hiatus ,because i had important  Exams  they called them Juniour WAEC,and i remember i did woefully in those Examinations so i dont think stoping my internet flow did any good because i still watched loads of television . When i got back to my Online ways ,things had changed i was no longer interested in Cartoon network  .

by the time i got back on the internet ,we weren’t using The huge desktop again ,my dad had bought a laptop for the  family ,now i didn’t know where to go ,CartoonNetwork didn’t interest me anymore, and i don’t think Brazzers or bangbros Were very popular then,not that i would know anything about them .

I soon discovered Facebook ,i had discovered the social internet A.K.A The ruiner of lives ,the originator of procrastination ,the lord of Time wasting ,Master of a thousand lies . I joined facebook ,December 2009 about 4 years ago , it felt great ,i could interact with people for free,with little or no effort .i eventually joined twitter the next year and WordPress ,2 years later . and that was last year .and that’s where we are now ,Joined instagram Last year too bla bla bla  . Its not really an interesting story ,but i have more and this time its Interesting

I have used the internet to cheat during a chemistry quiz ,i will not mention the time or place the quiz took place ,so as not to  ruin my life. we were allowed to bring to bring phones to the quiz ,but we were told not to use them . it was like telling you to bring food to a party but not to eat the food. let me be clear i don’t Condone ,any form of cheating ,and i find cheating wrong but ”when the going gets tough ,the tough gets going ”.

The quiz began ,as i read some of the questions i realized i did not know the answers to the questions ,i had to figure a way to pass the quiz ,asking for answers from the people beside won’t have been any good because i knew they were really dumb . where i am from we called those kind of people ”OLODOS”. anyhow i was surrounded by Olodos ,but i myself was an Olodo . you see the internet/network connectivity in most parts of  my school at that time was Bad. not Michael jackson Bad . it was demonic  . you could not download anything ,and loading a webpage was next to impossible  .but this time i had no choice ,i had to it ,i did not want to fail .

you see there was only one Invigilator in the classroom , even though, it was still  dangerous because if you were caught cheating you would be suspended for a year, and they won’t refund your School fees . so it was this one invigilator standing between me passing or getting suspended , I know most of you are already used to the Art of dodging The invigilators in an Examination . Matrix style

anyway as the quiz was going on ,i brought out my phone dodging the invigilator and was just hoping that today would be my lucky day and the internet would be fast enough to allow me to browse ,and guess what it was ,it was very fast,  so fast i believe it could have downloaded HD movies in under an hour ,the speed was incredible ,but the only thing more incredible was that at the End i failed the Quiz ,i did not understand i used google to search for answers ,if i had any talent it would be the art of using google ,i could google for the world . but why did i fail ? i guess i would never know.

i am not the kind of person that keeps Grudges, i know the teacher hated me

I passed Chemistry by the End of the Semester ,so i really did not care .

have you ever wondered what will happen to your twitter or facebook after you die? scared about losing followers and people unfriending you ?

well i have good news and bad news ,the good news is that your social profiles can be active while you are dead ,the bad news is that you will still be dead

there is an application called LIVESON that allows you to tweet beyond the grave ,the application uses data from your previous social life ,to tailor tweets and links to share with your followers and friends ,you can even send private messages to people

Its not completely perfect ,there is still work going on these types of applications ,but there is another Facebook application that allows you to create a video or text message that will only be published after you die after confirmation from three friends that you have entrusted ,its called IF I DIE

My Thoughts on Life : Truth

I believe we are a product of our Genes and our Environments

The following words are my Thoughts on life, they are subject to Change as  is everything else  in the world ,a year ago i wasn’t thinking like this and a year from now I probably won’t be thinking like this and probably even hours after I publish this post my thinking could change completely ,please don’t judge me on any of my Thoughts .Because  these thoughts are subject to change and your thoughts on my thoughts are also subject to change.

Life is a beautiful thing, and death is actually the scariest thing Ever, The greatest fear of every sane  human is death .but what makes it so scary ? Fear of the Unknown ,I often ask myself  when I die will I go to Heaven ,hell or will I just cease to exist ?,each time I ask myself this question I always come up with a different answer .Always heard people saying they are trying  find the meaning to life ,I never truly grasped the meaning until now. What is the use of life when we will eventually die. When I was a lot younger ,I had a Theory that I was the only real person and everybody else were just items in my world and the Whole world existed because of me .it seems quite ridiculous to me as I think of it now but it was my philosophy while I was younger ,and I would have challenged anybody that tried to oppose it, because of this I have learned to never  hold  too strongly to a believe because  I  know after a couple of years ,my thinking could change radically .I am still relatively young and I have a lot to learn and  go through ,and I would probably laugh at myself when I re-Read this later in the Far future.

Man is a Social Animal and he must interact with other members of his community or society .and speaking on general terms unfortunately , truth is what a community Identifies has the truth ,if a majority of people believe that something is the Truth then it is the truth for anybody else living in that society,and that’s why the killing of twins can be seen as the right thing to do because that is what the majority of that people believe and that’s what everybody in that community has to accept .Everybody wants to fit in and going against a general idea will not achieve that and if you go against this general idea you would be persecuted and seen as an outsider and or a misfit , and that is why what the majority of a Society perceives as the right thing  ,is what everybody in that society has to accept as the Truth .

You might think all I have been saying is Non-sense or you might also think what I have been saying is not Non-sense ,but what is Non-sense actually ? something that does not make sense or agree with the way things are ? .but your perception of Non-sense may not be my perception of  non-sense ,so whose non-sense is the Right non-sense ,yours? Mine? His ? hers? .well I believe there is no absolute nonsense ,no absolute sense and what am actually  trying to say Is ,I believe there is no absolute Truth . and truth is relative to whoever accepts it .you might believe shaking somebody Else’s hand with your left hand is wrong ,I might believe it doesn’t matter ,but who is right ?

I  believe we are both right, shaking with the left hand is right to that individual and it doesn’t matter to me .Both are true because we exist, because our minds have ascertained that it is truth ,I believe truth is in consciousness ,and what the conscious mind ascertains as the truth Is the Truth ,it is actually the Truth until I change my mind or I die.

I have said a lot now ,but all i have said, is it True ? well it is true to me but it may not be true to you ,if you think I am wrong ,I also believe we are both correct . I being wrong is the Truth to you and I being right is the Truth to me and i am simultaneously both Right and wrong relative to both of us  .and that’s what I believe. You might not accept it but it is what I believe .and in conclusion I also believe my beliefs are not the Absolute truth and is only true to me ,and it has no grounds on being the universal or absolute truth. it is actually a paradox ,but nothing in life makes perfect sense but to understand all i have said ,you must really grasp the concept of Relativity .

Science update : Babies with Three Biological parents now possible

You were probably were conceived by Two parents ,but now due to extensive Scientific research , it is possible for Babies to have Three parents.

HOW IT WORKS

Firstly to understand how having Three parents works, you must Know what a parent is. A parent is a  person that donates Genetic material to an Offspring ,meaning they provide their Children with the GENES ,Genes are The things that define your characteristics, make you who you are .but you should know that  not all characteristics are Good ,and it not all Characteristics you would want to your children to Inherit ,sometimes children Inherit disease such as sickle cell anemia ,muscular dystrophy and cardiac problems.Scientist have been looking for a ways to Deal with this problem,now they have come out with a Solution ;a radical fertility technique that uses DNA from three parents to create an embryo.

EXPLANATION OF THE SOLUTION

Another thing we must Note is that our Bodies are made up of cells ,and this cells are made of  Tiny parts these Tiny parts perform different functions in the body ,there’s the Nucleus;which controls the cell and contains DNA ,and there is also the Mitochondria which is the powerhouse of the Cell meaning it is the Engine of the cell ,providing the cell with the Energy to perform its Task ,this Mitochondria Also has DNA .Unlike the DNA in the nucleus which is Gotten from the Father and the mother ,the Mitochondrial DNA is Gotten solely from the Mother. meaning its only passed down by the mother

And this Mitochondrial DNA Determines how the mitochondria functions or behaves  ,but if the Mitochondria Behaves wrongly it can lead to diseases like muscular dystrophy and cardiac problems .Some parents will not want their Children to Inherit A faulty Mitochondrial DNA so they Use the mitochondrial DNA of another Woman I.E the Third parent.

PROCESS

The process involves In vitro fertilisation (IVF) :In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is a process by which an egg is fertilised by sperm outside the body.(meaning they take the sperm out of the man and the Egg out of the woman and fertilize it out of the womb ,in a laboratory and put it back in the Woman)

There are two IVF mitochondria replacement techniques, called pronuclear transfer and spindle transfer.

Pronuclear transfer involves an egg during the process of fertilisation. In the laboratory, the nucleus of the egg and the nucleus of the sperm, which have not yet fused together (the pronuclei) are taken from the fertilised egg cell containing the “unhealthy” mitochondria and placed into another donor-fertilised egg cell that has had its own pronuclei removed. This early stage embryo would then be placed into the mother’s body. The new embryo would contain the transplanted chromosomal DNA from both of its parents, but would have “donor” mitochondria from the other egg cell.

The alternative mitochondria replacement technique of spindle transfer involves egg cells prior to fertilisation. The nuclear DNA from an egg cell with “unhealthy” mitochondria is removed and placed into a donor egg cell that contains healthy mitochondria and has had its own nucleus removed. This “healthy” egg cell can then be fertilised.

Conclusion

The Mitochondrial DNA makes up 0.2% of the Child’s  entire Genetic makeup and the Main characteristics and features are determined by the Main Parents DNA,even Though its only 0.2% its a big step in Engineering Better Humans. although  this is Only a solution to Mitochondrial inherited diseases its  a big step forward for modern medicine ,Some people may question the Ethics and  morality of this process ,The United Kingdom took a step Friday toward being the first country in the world to allow a pioneering in Mitochondrial vitro fertilization technique ,it is currently Banned in United states .But it may seem that it would steadily become a new Treatment for preventing Mitochondrial diseases.
